The DfE have funded 9 school-led regional networks, aimed at supporting women at all stages of their career with career progression, facilitating leadership development and coaching, and providing opportunities to network and share effective practice.
The Salop Teaching School Alliance is delighted to be part of this initiative and will be holding termly WLiE network events for Primary & Secondary staff.
We will also be organising opportunities for middle and senior leaders to participate in shadowing and exchange opportunities.
Feedback from our first WLiE meeting:
“Loved this session. Very inspirational hearing everyone’s pathways. As this is my first network meeting I would like to build on this in the future and feel that support and build on connections”
“My challenge is how I will balance family life and maintain my ambition as well as making sure my school sees that I am still keen to progress”
“I found the meeting really helpful talking to each other and sharing good practice. For future meetings it would be good to discuss interviews: skills & techniques How to move from HOD to first assistant head role, How do you know you are ready for the next role?
Our second network meeting focused on the key skills needed to secure a middle leadership post, at secondary level and addressed the key issues and challenges faced once you are in post. Please see presentations below:
